Position: Manager - Legal

Reporting to: VP-BD

Job Location: Thane

Role & responsibilities

• The Legal Manager is responsible for managing all legal, regulatory, and compliance matters of company ensuring adherence to applicable pharmaceutical laws, corporate regulations, and statutory requirements while safeguarding the organizations legal interests.
• Manage end-to-end legal compliance related to pharmaceutical manufacturing, R&D, quality, and commercial operations.
• Draft, review & negotiate different types of important agreements such as Research Outsourcing Agreements, Contract Manufacturing Agreements, Manufacturing & Supplier Agreements, Clinical Agreements, and Vendors & Supplier Agreements.
• Provide legal support in Paten filling & protection strategies.
• Provide legal support in licensing & distribution contracts.
• Handle litigation management, dispute resolution, liaising with external advocates, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
• Advise management on legal risks, compliance gaps, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Ensure adherence to laws and regulations from bodies like FDA, EMA, CDSCO, & MHRA.
• Ensure compliance with Drugs & Cosmetics Act, Companies Act, Labour Laws, Contract Act, and other applicable statutes.
• Legal Support to HR, Finance, QA, RA in Legal Framework.
• Maintain legal MIS, documentation, and compliance trackers.

Preferred candidate profile

• Candidate should have LLB/LLM with 5 to 8 years of experience in corporate sectors especially from Pharma / Biotech industries.
• Strong expertise in Legal Matters & Intellectual Property Rights.
• Exposure to regulatory audits and corporate legal matters.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical laws & regulatory framework.
• Expertise in contract drafting & negotiation.
• Expertise in Litigation and compliance management.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and handle multiple priorities.
• High integrity and compliance orientation.
• Expertise in Analytical thinking and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination.
