Role & responsibilities

• Lead plant-wide implementation and compliance of statutory HSE regulations including Factories Act, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and client-specific safety norms.
• Develop and drive a proactive safety culture through hazard identification, risk assessment (HIRA), incident investigation, root cause analysis (RCA), and effective corrective actions.
• Prepare and maintain legal compliance calendar, records for audits, and timely liaison with government authorities (DISH, MPCB, Fire Department, etc.).
• Conduct daily safety rounds, job safety analysis (JSA), and lead weekly/monthly HSE review meetings.
• Train staff and contract workforce on safe work practices, PPE usage, firefighting, emergency preparedness, work-at-height, confined space entry, and permit-to-work systems.
• Ensure high standards of housekeeping, waste management, and ETP/STP operations including hazardous material handling as per guidelines.
• Monitor environmental parameters like stack emissions, water usage, DG sets, and galvanizing fumes to ensure MPCB compliance and drive initiatives for sustainability (e.g. water/energy conservation).
• Lead internal and external HSE audits and support continual improvement initiatives across the plant.
• Drive the implementation of Behavioral Safety Programs, toolbox talks, safety week celebrations, and reward & recognition for HSE best practices.
• Ensure appropriate signage, safety systems, firefighting equipment availability, and emergency response systems are always operational.

Preferred candidate profile

BE / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Production Engineering (mandatory)

• Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) or Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety (PGDIS) from State Technical Board / Recognized Institute (mandatory)
