Job Description

The Manager, Foundry is responsible for managing the team of engineering service technicians and acting as the project manager for engineering service projects as well as leading the design team of mechanical, electrical, and regulatory engineering resources. The design team has a focus on custom product design, design verification testing and compliance of the custom product. The Manager, Foundry will be working with various engineering team members including technical sales engineers, platform engineers, system verification engineers, engineering technicians, and other leaders to collaborate on custom design projects. This role involves establishing quality standards, conducting inspections and tests, managing quality audits, and coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams to resolve issues. The manager also leads root cause analysis for failures, implements corrective actions, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to maintain high product quality and customer satisfaction. A successful individual in this role is an autonomous problem solver that is focused on creating raving fans of his/her internal customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing daily activities of the Foundry Team
  • Hiring & training team members as necessary
  • Perform 1:1s with each of the team members
  • Be an active member of the leadership team with active collaboration with functional leadership
  • Work with team members on their individual development plans
  • Coaching of team members and facilitating IDPs, mid-year and annual reviews
  • Manage a project schedule and milestones for projects
  • Create KPIs to monitor the performance of the team
  • Cross functional collaboration with other leaders for Engineering, QA, QMS & Support activities
  • Drive team for hardware integration & system verification

Educational Qualification

  • B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience working with, building, and integrating computer components into systems
  • 10+ years of experience with Linux and Windows Operating Systems

Skills Required

  • Excellent communication and listening skills, creativity, and the ability to work closely with technical resources and other members of AHEAD staff to successfully deliver assigned projects
  • Ability to manage projects and assist team members to move those projects from start to finish
  • Ability to manage other technicians to help coach and guide them on best practices
  • Proven experience around engineering discipline and revision control, including Engineering Change Management, PLM, and EOL
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills
  • Working knowledge of computer architecture, server hardware components, and computer standards
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, planning and organizing, decision-making, communication skills, influencing and leading, teamwork, negotiation skills, conflict management, adaptability, and ability to thrive under pressure
  • Proven technical acuity and problem-solving abilities
  • An understanding of quality control and computer assembly methods

The compensation range indicated in this posting reflects the On-Target Earnings (OTE) for this role, which includes a base salary and any applicable target bonus amount. This OTE range may vary based on the candidates relevant experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
