Manager- Farm Management

Farm & Crop Management-

1. Oversee day-to-day operations across orchards, open fields, and protected cultivation structures (polyhouse/net house).

2. Develop and execute cropping plansdeciding crop selection, planting schedules, and harvest cycles based on weather trends and seasonality.

3. Implement modern agronomic practices, soil health programs, nutrient management plans, and IPM (Integrated Pest Management).

4. Drive organic farming practices including composting, bio-input preparation, and compliance with organic standards.

Fruit Orchard Expertise-

1. Manage the full life cycle of fruit cropspropagation, pruning, fertigation, disease/pest management, and harvesting.

2. Monitor orchard health using scientific tools, crop scouting, and timely corrective measures.

Protected Cultivation (Polyhouse / Net House)-

1. Manage climate control systems, irrigation, fertigation schedules, and crop maintenance within protected structures.

2. Ensure optimal utilization of controlled environments for high-value crops.

People & Operational Management-

1. Supervise and guide field supervisors and labor teams to ensure productivity and adherence to farm protocols.

2. Train staff on good agricultural practices (GAP), safety procedures, and efficient field operations.

3. Coordinate procurement of seeds, fertilizers, tools, and other farm inputs in a timely manner.

Planning, Monitoring & Reporting-

1. Maintain detailed farm records including crop performance, inputs, pest/disease incidence, and yields.

2. Use technology (farm management software, sensors, weather apps) to improve efficiency and forecasting.

3. Prepare weekly/monthly operational reports for management.

DESIRED SKILLS:

1. Strong knowledge of plant nutrition, soil science, pest and disease management, organic farming, and climate-responsive agriculture.

2. Experience handling labor teams and managing large farm operations.

3. Strong planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

4. Ability to work independently and handle operational responsibilities with accountability.

Familiarity with modern farm equipment, irrigation systems, and agricultural technologies.

PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES:

1. Experience with sustainable agriculture, regenerative practices, or organic certification processes.

2. Strong communication and record-keeping skills.

Ability to stay updated with emerging agronomy practices and integrate innovations at the farm.
