Job Description

What you ll do:
This position entails leading & managing an engineering team on design and development of GEIS Commercial products range primarily for US markets. He/she will be responsible for driving a culture of innovation, learning & continuous improvement while executing the projects which include NPI, NTI, VAVE, Cost out, Process improvement & Engineering quality. He/ she will be responsible for creating & implementing the roadmap for developing capabilities in line with the strategic plan over the next few years. He/she will be directly responsible for People management, which includes grooming talent, Motivation, Hiring and retention to deliver high performance for leading & owing engineering element will be prime focus.
" Provide tactical and strategic direction for product development in GEIS Commercial products like Cable Trays, Wiring Management, Mechanical fittings, Gratings, Pipe Hanges & Seismic Bracing etc.
Provide technical leadership to the team to execute projects and make day to day engineering decisions. Should be well acquainted with different phases of product development and engineering aspects as required for project execution. Drive growth & accelerate capability development in line with strategy. Lead efforts to enrich PDLC experience and gain end to end ownership on focus areas. Develop technology roadmap aligned with business strategic plan & EIIC strategic roadmaps for the group. Lead cross functional/ multi-disciplinary team in making technology/ engineering decisions in line with division s strategy and future growth plans. - Recruit and retain a team of engineers to provide product development and engineering services to the global engineering needs. Should be able to set realistic goals for self and team. Leverage performance management, development plans and best practices to continuously improve team performance. Drive analysis first and data driven decisions culture within the team to achieve engineering excellence. Encourage team for critical reviews and drive actions for continuously improving the quality of work. Understand business side of operations and support the division on technology side for effective planning and road mapping. Understand different stages of product development and standard processes like PMP to drive smooth execution of projects in a global environment."
Qualifications:
BE / M Tech in Mechanical
10+ Years and Minimum 2 years of experience in leadership and people management
Skills:
" Experience in the field of product design and development for electrical applications complying to IEC/UL standards
Able to directly lead and manage a team of 8-12 reports ranging from diploma to postgraduates from different engineering disciplines Demonstrated product execution from concept through commercialization on at least 2-3 projects of medium technical complexity involving concept generation, POC, Verification, validation, and certification as per global standards. Should have good knowledge on different product design tools environment such as CAD- PRO E, Solid works or E-CAD, LT Spice etc. and FEA tools as required for product design and development. Developing positive customer relations, continuous improvement methodologies, DFX application Experience collaborating with local / global suppliers for prototype developments, external labs for testing etc. Preferred experience in NPD/ sustaining projects on home automation, smart home, energy management or other products for residential applications in a global environment. " " Good communication skills in English (verbal and written) to communicate information effectively to customers, and technical staff.
