Prioritise accounts, set recovery strategies (settlement, negotiating payment plans, repossession/legal actions).
Conduct customer contact via phone, email, field visits as required for recovery.
Coordinate with the legal/recovery team for litigation, asset seizure, repossessions, skip tracing for absconding customers or hidden assets.
Engage external agencies, collection vendors, legal firms for outsourced recovery actions and ensure performance/ SLA compliance.
Maintain clear documentation of all recovery efforts - communication logs, settlement approvals, legal case status, account writeoffs.
Prepare regular reports (e.g., monthly/quarterly) on recovery performance (e.g., recovery % on 1171+ DPD pool, reduction in NPA pool, TAT for closure) and present insights for process improvement.
Analyse delinquency trends, root causes and recommend improvements to reduce future severe delinquencies (for example, via credit risk insights, monitoring upstream buckets).
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory guidelines (e.g., RBI norms, data privacy, repossession laws) and internal policies.
Collaborate with other teams (Credit Risk, Operations, Legal, Field Team) to ensure endtoend recovery workflow is efficient and effective.
Qualifications & SkillsBachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Commerce or related field (preferred).
Strong negotiation, persuasion and customerinteraction skills - yet with firmness required for tough recovery scenarios.
Knowledge of legal recovery procedures (repossession, asset tracing, skip tracing, litigation management) is a plus.
Good working knowledge of MS Office, collection management systems (CMS), MIS reporting.
Ability to work under pressure, in a targetdriven environment, and to manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
Analytical mindset - able to interpret data, spot trends in the delinquency pool, and proactively manage risk.
Excellent organisational and documentation skills.
Willingness to travel for field visits, repossessions or court/legal actions, if required.
Ethical conduct and maintaining confidentiality is paramount.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Recovery rate (% of outstanding recovered) from the 1171+ DPD pool.
Number and % of accounts closed via settlement/legal resolution.
Reduction in NPA pool size (hard bucket) over defined period.
Turnaround Time (TAT) for closure of cases in high DPD bucket.
Compliance and procedural adherence - audits, documentation, vendor/agency performance.
