Manager - Design & Engineering (Electrical) - Transmission Line

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design & Engineering

• Lead design and engineering for transmission lines up to 765 kV (AC/DC) including both overhead and underground systems.
  
• Prepare and review electrical design documents line route profiles, tower schedules, conductor configuration, insulator selection, sag-tension calculations, and earthing design.
  
• Review and finalize engineering drawings (SLDs, layout drawings, BOQs, and GTPs) submitted by design consultants or internal teams.
  
• Conduct detailed technical analysis for electrical clearances, load flow, and voltage drop calculations.
  

2. Technical Evaluation & Standardization

• Develop design standards, specifications, and procedures for the T&D business.
  
• Review and evaluate vendor drawings, designs, and data sheets for electrical components (conductors, insulators, hardware fittings, OPGW, etc.).
  
• Support in standardization of design templates and optimization for cost reduction.
  

3. Coordination & Interface Management

• Interface with clients, consultants, and statutory bodies (CEA, PGCIL, State Transcos, etc.) for design approvals.
  
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and foundation engineering teams for integrated design deliverables.
  
• Support SCM and procurement teams during technical bid evaluations and vendor finalization.
  

4. Project Support & Documentation

• Provide engineering support during project execution and resolve site technical queries.
  
• Ensure as-built drawings and engineering documentation are updated and archived.
  
• Support QA/QC teams in defining technical inspection and testing protocols.
  

5. Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure all designs comply with relevant national and international standards (IS, IEC, IEEE, CBIP, CEA).
  
• Conduct design audits and internal reviews to ensure adherence to project specifications and safety requirements.

PLS-CADD, SAG10, AutoCAD, STAAD, ETAP

Mandatory Experience in EPC/project-based companies in the Power Transmission / Infrastructure domain.
