Job Description

As the manager of a team of Content Editors focused on metadata enhancement, subject and entity identification, and quality processes within the Editorial Curation group of ProQuest – a part of Clarivate, you will be responsible for the management of two team managers, and you will collaborate with a team of editorial professionals to complete metadata enhancement, quality assurance, and thesaurus improvement tasks related to curating documents in our content management systems.  

About You – Experience, Education, Skills, And Accomplishments

  • Knowledge and experience with quality assurance and editorial processes and methodologies
  • Knowledge and experience with project management tracking tools and methodologies, such as JIRA
  • Knowledge and experience with subject indexing and indexing thesauri or vocabularies
  • Experience and knowledge of search or query construction using online databases or content management systems
  • Knowledge of XML and content schemas
  • Expertise in Excel and competency in content management tools
 

It would be great if you also had . . .

  • Knowledge of or experience with librarian science concepts, such as subject classifications
  • Knowledge of serials metadata standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills in a global environment
 

What will you be doing in this role?

 
  • Developing a team of Content Editors
  • Planning work of the team in collaboration with other content leaders to achieve strategic goals and meet product expectations, ensuring content updates are completed in a timely and accurate manner while meeting both throughput and quality targets.
  • Monitoring direct reports’ performance against production standards and creating metrics for measurements of success at both individual and departmental levels.
 
This role would manage two team managers who in turn manage a team of Content Editors focusing on metadata enhancement, subject and entity identification, and quality processes for the Content Solutions portfolio. As the leader you should expect to spend a third your time engaged in management of the team and its work, and the work to help build and improve on enhancement and quality processes in this growing department.
