Manager- Construction & Maintenance

As a Project Engineer_Civil based in Chennai, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing construction, renovation, repair, and maintenance projects within an academic institution. Your role will involve ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. **Key Responsibilities:** - Plan, coordinate, and oversee all phases of construction, renovation, repair, and maintenance projects. - Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource plans. - Review project drawings, specifications, and derive cost estimates. - Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and standards. - Oversee construction activities, ensuring work is carried out according to plans and specifications. - Develop and implement maintenance and repair schedules for campus facilities. - Ensure all construction and maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and standards. - Communicate regularly with academic staff, administration, and other stakeholders regarding project status and updates. - Develop and maintain detailed project schedules. - Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of tasks. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders. **Qualifications:** - Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. - Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in construction project management, or a similar role. - Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations. - Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Proficiency in project management software and other relevant tools. - Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
