Management Trainee, Chief Accounting & Capital Office

What will your essential responsibilities include?

• Reconcile batch payments with bank statements, managing stakeholders to ensure minimal bank reconciliation items are cleared promptly, and assist in preparing necessary information for bank reconciliations.
• Oversee the timely approval and processing of invoices to meet vendor commitments, track outstanding invoices, follow up on overdue payments, and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve invoice issues, payment delays, and related queries on bank matters, expense claims, procurement, T&E, and other financial concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of all invoice transactions and payment activities within the accounting system, ensuring compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
• Manage staff corporate card claims, ensuring claims are submitted timely and reconciliations are accurate.
• Generate reports on invoice status, payment schedules, and outstanding balances for management review.
• Prepare quarterly withholding tax payments and relevant entries for entities, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
• Provide necessary financial information to the GST team for quarterly GST submissions.
• Prepare and compile board reporting slides and other finance-related documentation for review by the finance team.
• Prepare quarter close journal entries and ad-hoc journal entries.
• Address and close audit points raised during internal and external audits efficiently.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in reporting workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide any adhoc finance team requests covering analysis and reporting purposes.

You will report to Manager, Chief Accounting and Capital Office.

• CA/CPA with relevant years of post qualification experience.
• Robust analytical skills with the ability to review and identify discrepancies or errors in financial data and transactions.
• Ability to work resiliently, proactively managing tasks and taking initiative to resolve issues promptly.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
• High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data entry, invoice processing, and financial reports.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

• Effective organizational skills, including effective prioritization, scheduling, and time management, to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Demonstrates ownership and responsibility, able to identify when action is needed, work responsibly within a team, and contribute to process improvements.
• Proficiency in using financial systems such as Coupa, SAP, and banking platforms to perform reconciliations, process transactions, and generate insightful reports.
