Job Summary:

The Maintenance Manager in a sheet metal fabrication facility is responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of all machinery, tools, and infrastructure. This role involves overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance, managing the maintenance team, coordinating with production, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to minimize downtime and maximize equipment performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance Planning & Execution

• Monitoring the preventive maintenance schedules for all fabrication equipment (CNC Punching machine, bending machine, press brakes, Powder coating equipment, shearing machine, welding stations, Transformer winding and Assembly machine etc.).
• Ensure timely repair and troubleshooting of breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and analyse equipment history to predict potential failures.

2. Team Management

• Lead and supervise the maintenance team.
• Train staff on maintenance procedures, safety, and equipment handling.
• Evaluate performance, ensure skill development, and manage work schedules.

3. Inventory & Spare Parts Management

• Maintain optimum inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables.
• Maintaining a critical spares for critical machines.

4. Health, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with occupational health and safety regulations.
• Implement safe working practices and conduct regular safety drills and audits.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors for compliance and certification needs (e.g., ISO,EMS. OHSAS).

5. Technical Support & Projects

• Support installation and commissioning of new machines or upgrades.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams for layout changes or process improvements.
• Recommend and implement energy-saving and cost-reduction initiatives.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of sheet metal machinery (hydraulic presses, CNC machines, welding equipment. Powder coating Equipment's etc.)
• Hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Leadership and team management
• Communication and vendor coordination

Educational Qualification:

• Diploma/Bachelors Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field

Experience:

• 10–15 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role
• Preferably with experience in sheet metal or heavy fabrication industries.
