Client is a pioneer in the manufacture of bleached absorbent cotton products, in India it has been a leader in this industry for over 40 years. It has supplied its bleached fibres to highly quality conscious markets like USA, Japan, Australia, UK, Europe, Israel, etc.Product range includes Cotton Pads, Cotton Balls, cotton buds, cotton rolls. Position : Maintenance Head Job Location : Boisar Tarapur Mumbai Job:Summary The Maintenance Head will oversee the maintenance and efficient operation of all machinery and utilities in the non-woven cotton product manufacturing process. This includes a comprehensive range of operations such as bale opening, blowing, carding, bleaching, kiering, drying, fleece making, and more. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in machinery maintenance, including MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and both electric and electronic maintenance. The role requires resilience, the ability to handle work pressure, and an agile nature. Key Responsibilities Machinery Maintenance and Optimization: Oversee the maintenance of machinery across all stages of the production process, including bale opening, blowing, carding, caking, bleaching, kiering, drying, and bale making. Ensure the smooth operation of specialized machinery for fleece making, including the 3.1-meter width custom fleece line, hydro entanglement, fleece cutting, and winding. Utility Management: Manage and maintain critical utilities such as compressed air systems, effluent treatment plants (ETP), boilers for steam generation, heat exchangers for oil heating (used in dyeing), cool air supplies, and HVAC systems. Monitor utility performance, implementing improvements to optimize energy consumption and reduce operational costs. Production Support: Collaborate closely with production teams to ensure that machinery and utilities support optimal production rates and product quality. Address and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure the timely delivery of products. Preventive Maintenance & TPM: Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for all machinery and utilities to prevent unexpected breakdowns. Utilize TPM practices to enhance equipment reliability and production efficiency. MTTR & MTBF Analysis: Monitor and improve MTTR and MTBF metrics to ensure quick repairs and extended machinery uptime. Analyze equipment failure data and implement strategies to reduce downtime and enhance performance. Electric and Electronic Maintenance: Oversee both electric and electronic maintenance of machinery, ensuring that all systems function optimally. Stay updated with the latest advancements in electric and electronic maintenance practices. Safety, Compliance, and Audits: Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards. Conduct regular audit surveys to assess equipment condition and identify areas for improvement. Promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team, ensuring that all equipment is operated and maintained safely. Team Leadership: Lead and manage the maintenance team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance. Foster a collaborative working environment and encourage continuous improvement within the team. Vendor and Spare Parts Management: Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary spare parts and equipment. Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts to ensure quick repairs and minimal production disruption. Resilience and Agility: Demonstrate resilience and the ability to handle work pressure in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Be agile in responding to unexpected challenges and adapting to changes in production demands. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance machinery performance and production efficiency. Stay updated with the latest advancements in machinery, maintenance practices, and industry trends relevant to the non-woven cotton industry. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors/Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in maintenance management within the non-woven cotton product manufacturing industry or a similar field. Strong knowledge of machinery and processes related to bale opening, carding, bleaching, kiering, fleece making, hydro entanglement, and utility management. Experience with MTTR, MTBF, TPM, and both electric and electronic maintenance. Technical Skills: Expertise in the maintenance of production machinery and utilities, with a focus on minimizing downtime and optimizing performance. Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools. Soft Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Effective communication skills to liaise with cross-functional teams and external vendors. Resilience under pressure and the ability to adapt quickly to changes. Additional Requirements: Willingness to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Availability for on-call support in case of critical maintenance issues .
