Job Description

Job Description We are looking for a skilled Mainframe COBOL Developer with strong experience in AS400 (iSeries) systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, testing, and maintaining legacy applications using COBOL, RPG, and related tools on AS400. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable mainframe solutions that meet business needs. Key Responsibilities: Analyze, design, develop, and maintain applications on AS400 using COBOL (COBOL/400), CL, and DB2/400. Develop and modify batch and online programs using COBOL and RPG on AS400. Perform impact analysis, code changes, unit testing, and documentation. Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolution and support. Participate in application upgrades, system integration, and data migration projects. Write and maintain technical specifications and documentation. Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and project managers to deliver high-quality solutions. Follow best practices in code quality, security, and performance optimization. Required Skills & Experience: 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in COBOL programming on the AS400 platform. Strong knowledge of CL/400, RPG/400, and DB2/400. Experience in batch processing and job scheduling. Good understanding of SDLC and change management processes. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug and optimize legacy code. Knowledge of version control tools like Aldon or Turn Over is a plus. Experience working in Agile or Waterfall environments. Show more Show less
