Machine Shop Engineer

Responsible for planning, programming, operating, and optimizing CNC/VMC machining processes for submersible pump components such as impellers, rotors, stators, pump casings, shafts, and diffusers. Ensures precision machining, quality, and productivity while maintaining equipment and tooling.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare CNC/VMC programs using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM).
• Set up machining processes: tool selection, fixturing, job loading, offsets, and first-piece approval.
• Optimize machining parameters for cost, cycle time, and tool life improvement.
• Interpret 2D/3D drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and surface finish requirements.
• Troubleshoot machining issues—chatter, tool wear, dimensional deviations, etc.
• Maintain SPC, process sheets, and machining documentation.
• Coordinate with design, production, and quality teams for new product development.
• Ensure machining quality of pump components (SS, CI, Bronze, Alloy steel).
• Maintain machines: CNC turning centers, VMC, drilling & tapping centers.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and preventive maintenance schedules.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of CNC/VMC programming and machining operations.
• Hands-on experience with precision measurement tools (CMM, micrometer, height gauge, bore gauge).
• Understanding of pump component geometry and critical tolerances.
• Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, holders, and fixture design.

Qualifications

• Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing engineering.
• 2–6 years of CNC/VMC machining experience (preferably in pump or rotating machinery industry).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
