The Opportunity

As a Machine Learning Engineering Intern, you will contribute to the development and improvement of document understanding solutions for healthcare, using cutting-edge techniques such as OCR, vision-to-text multimodal models, and LLMs. You will work alongside experienced engineers, gaining practical experience in solving real-world problems related to document processing.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and refine your Python and shell scripting skills.
• Learn about and experiment with transformer-based vision and multimodal models like LayoutLM.
• Become familiar with PDF processing tools such as PyPDF2 and pdfplumber.
• Explore text extraction and structuring tools like Tabula or similar.
• Gain practical experience using deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Work in a collaborative team environment and contribute to real-world projects.

• Solid understanding of programming concepts and a willingness to learn.
• Basic to intermediate Python skills.
• A strong interest in machine learning, computer vision, and NLP.
• A proactive attitude and a desire to learn new technologies and techniques.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Good communication skills in English (written and verbal).
  

Bonus Points

• Familiarity with basic image processing concepts.
• Exposure to any machine learning concepts or libraries.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
