Job Description

Linux L1 Support Engineer

Perform basic Linux administration tasks such as:

User and group management
File system navigation and permissions
Service status checks and restarts
Log review and basic troubleshooting

Handle
L1 tickets
, escalate issues to L2/L3 teams when necessary.
Support installation and configuration of Linux packages using
yum, dnf, apt
, etc.
Monitor scheduled jobs (cron), system backups, and disk usage.
Assist in network troubleshooting (ping, traceroute, netstat/ss).
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for incident handling.
Maintain documentation for issues, resolutions, and knowledge-base articles.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong understanding of
Linux fundamentals
(Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar).
Hands-on experience with basic shell commands and file system operations.
Knowledge of
systemd
, logs, and common troubleshooting commands.
Understanding of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH).
Good communication skills and customer-centric mindset.
Ability to work in shifts (24/7 support environment if needed).
