Legal l Expert (Highway Projects)

Role & responsibilities

1.Contract Management & Administration

• Review, draft, and negotiate contracts for highway and infrastructure projects.
  
• Ensure adherence to FIDIC, EPC, PPP, BOT, HAM, and other relevant contract frameworks.
  
• Monitor contract execution, key milestones, obligations, and deliverables to minimize disputes.
  
• Maintain complete and accurate contractual records, correspondence, and documentation for audits and compliance.
  

2. Claims & Dispute Resolution

• Identify potential contractual risks, variations, delays, and cost overruns.
  
• Prepare, evaluate, and manage EOT claims, price escalations, and change orders.
  
• Support and participate in dispute resolution, negotiations, and arbitration proceedings.
  
• Provide contractual guidance to project teams and ensure proper claim documentation is maintained.
  

3. Compliance & Legal Coordination

• Ensure all contracts are compliant with applicable local and international construction laws and procurement regulations.
  
• Coordinate and liaise with legal teams, consultants, and government authorities on contractual matters.
  
• Stay updated on changes in contract laws, procurement policies, and industry standards for best practices.
  

4. Risk Assessment & Cost Control

• Conduct risk assessments on contract terms and propose effective mitigation strategies.
  
• Monitor and control contractual cost variations in coordination with finance and project teams.
  
• Ensure alignment between contract provisions, project budgets, and cost estimates.
  

5. Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, procurement staff, and clients to ensure contractual compliance.
  
• Prepare periodic reports on contract performance, risks, deviations, and claim status.
  
• Support negotiations with subcontractors, vendors, and external stakeholders for contract-related matters.
