Job Description

Position Overview

The L&D Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing capability-building initiatives across the organization, focusing on behavioral skills, leadership development, sales capability, communication, and overall employee growth. This role supports business transformation, talent development, and organizational culture building in a fast-paced pharmaceutical environment.


Key Responsibilities

Learning Needs Analysis

  • Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) in partnership with HRBPs and business leaders across Sales, Marketing, Medical, Corporate, Production Support, and Support Functions.
  • Identify skill gaps in communication, leadership, managerial capability, sales effectiveness, digital skills, and functional competencies.
  • Design competency frameworks and career development paths for key roles.

Design & Delivery of Training Programs

  • Develop and deliver training programs on:
  • Behavioral skills (communication, teamwork, problem-solving, time management).
  • Leadership development (first-line managers, mid-managers, high-potential employees).
  • Sales capability enhancement (selling skills, negotiation, scientific detailing, customer engagement).
  • Managerial effectiveness and performance management.
  • Cultural programs (values, collaboration, inclusion, growth mindset).
  • Build curated learning journeys for different employee segments.
  • Use blended learning methods including workshops, virtual sessions, micro learning, coaching, and e-learning.

Talent & Leadership Development

  • Plan and implement leadership development initiatives for emerging leaders and future-ready talent.
  • Drive Hi Po identification and design learning roadmaps.
  • Support succession planning by aligning developmental programs and assessments.
  • Facilitate coaching sessions and development centers where required..

Learning Systems & Process Management

  • Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) for behavioral and leadership programs.
  • Maintain learning calendars, track program participation, and ensure all learning resources are updated.
  • Implement modern learning tools like digital learning pathways, mobile learning, and gamified modules.

Measurement & Impact Assessment

  • Measure training effectiveness using feedback, assessments, behavior-change indicators, and business KPIs.
  • Prepare dashboards, reports, and insights for leadership.
  • Continuously improve programs based on feedback and data.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Collaborate with business leaders, HRBPs, and marketing teams to align L&D initiatives with business needs.
  • Manage relationships with external trainers, content providers, coaching partners, and institutes.
  • Ensure program quality and ROI from vendor-led interventions.


Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelors or Master’s in HR, Psychology, Business Administration, Training & Development, or related fields.
  • Certifications in L&D, Instructional Design, or Coaching preferred.

Experience

  • 5–10 years of L&D experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector.
  • Strong experience in

    soft skills training, leadership programs, and sales capability building

    .
  • Experience with LMS and digital learning platforms.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and modern L&D practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Expertise in training design, content creation, and curriculum building.
  • Analytical mindset and ability to measure learning impact.
  • High business alignment and understanding of pharma commercial operations.
