Lead - Shipping Services & Raw Material Procurement

The Category Lead - Shipping Services & Raw Material Procurement for Cement will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of Shipping Services related to Dry Bulk Cargo handling and chartering, as well as the procurement of Raw Materials essential for Cement Manufacturing. This role requires a deep understanding of the Cement industry, including the sourcing and management of various raw materials, inbound logistics, and international trade and finance dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing of Raw Materials required by Cement plant operation like Fly Ash, Gypsum, Slag, Iron Ore, Limestone, etc.
• Ensure the continuity of Raw Material supply to run the plant continuously.
• Manage Inbound Logistics including Road, Rail, and Sea transportation.
• Sourcing of Dry Bulk Cargo handling and chartering services.
• Chartering of Vessel to transport bulk materials like Clinker, Gypsum, Limestone, Cement, etc.
• Managing Stevedoring and handling service contracts.
• Manage Import & Export shipments and oversee Documentation.
• Oversee custom clearance of cargo and manage various agencies like CHA, Agents, Shipping line, port authorities, handling and logistics agencies, etc.
• Forecast shipping cost and understand the freight dynamics, take mitigating actions for factors impacting sea freight.
• Manage and oversee international trade and financing options

Qualifications

·        Bachelor of Engineering in any field

·        MBA

·        Diploma in Ship Chartering / International Trade

Experience

• 12 to 15 years of experience in procurement of Shipping Services pertaining to Dry Bulk Cargo handling and chartering.
• Experience in procurement of Raw Materials required for Cement Manufacturing such as Fly Ash, Gypsum, Slag, Iron Ore, Bauxite, etc.
• Experience in Supply Chain Operations Management to ensure continuous supply to Cement plants
