The Role
We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial leader to join us as the Lead of Payments. This is a senior leadership role where you will be the chief architect of our payments business. You will have complete ownership of the business unit's strategy, execution, and financial performance. Your primary objective will be to establish Fibe as a key player in the payments ecosystem by building a seamless, engaging, and profitable platform.

- P&L Ownership: Assume full responsibility for the payments business's profit and loss. Develop financial plans, set ambitious targets, and manage budgets to drive revenue growth and profitability.
- Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a comprehensive go-to-market strategy for the new payments vertical. Identify key market opportunities and create a roadmap for product expansion and feature enhancement.
- User Acquisition & Growth: Design and implement innovative strategies to acquire new users onto the Fibe payments platform. Utilize data-driven marketing, strategic partnerships, and product-led growth initiatives to build a large user base.
- Engagement & Retention: Develop programs focused on driving transaction frequency and user stickiness. Your key metrics will be the growth of Daily Active Users (DAU) and Monthly Active Users (MAU).
- Cross-sell & Synergy: Create powerful synergies by designing initiatives that encourage Fibe's existing lending user base to adopt and regularly transact on the new payments platform.
- Product Collaboration: Work closely with the Product, Engineering, and Design teams to conceptualize and deliver a best-in-class user experience for all payment services.
- Partnerships & Alliances: Forge and manage strategic relationships with banks, payment gateways, regulatory bodies (like NPCI), and other fintech partners to enhance our offerings and market reach.
- Team Building: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team dedicated to the payments business. Foster a culture of innovation, execution, and accountability.
- Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure that all payment operations are fully compliant with the guidelines set forth by the RBI, NPCI, and other regulatory authorities.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: 8+ years of professional experience within the digital payments, e-commerce, or fintech industry.
- P&L Management: Demonstrable track record of managing a P&L and successfully scaling a business line or product.
- Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of the Indian payments’ ecosystem, including UPI, BBPS, card networks, payment gateways, and the relevant regulatory landscape.
- Proven Growth Leader: A history of successfully launching payment products and scaling user metrics like MAU and DAU.
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to think strategically and translate high-level goals into actionable plans.
- Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a cross-functional team.
- Educational Background: An MBA or equivalent postgraduate degree from a premier institution is highly preferred.
