Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead

    mechanical design and packaging

    of embedded systems ensuring structural integrity, manufacturability, and performance.
  • Manage

    end-to-end product development lifecycle

    CAD modeling, simulation, prototype validation, and tooling.
  • Collaborate with

    electrical, firmware, and industrial design teams

    for seamless electro-mechanical integration.
  • Perform

    tolerance analysis, thermal analysis, and structural simulations

    to ensure product robustness.
  • Define

    materials, finishes, sealing, and mounting

    strategies for both rugged and aesthetic enclosures.
  • Drive

    DFM/DFA

    with manufacturing partners to ensure production readiness.
  • Work with vendors for

    injection molding, sheet metal, die-cast, or 3D printing

    components.
  • Own

    design documentation

    (2D drawings, BOMs, tolerance stacks, and specs).
  • Support

    prototype builds, validation testing (thermal, vibration, ingress protection)

    , and NPI phase.
  • Mentor junior engineers, conduct design reviews, and enforce mechanical design standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Good experience in

    mechanical design

    for embedded or electro-mechanical products. With at least

    2+ years in a lead role

  • Proficient in

    3D CAD (SolidWorks / Creo / NX)

    and

    PLM tools

    .
  • Strong experience in

    enclosure design for PCB, connectors, sensors, antennas, and displays.

  • Proven experience with

    IP65IP68 sealing

    ,

    EMI/EMC shielding

    , and

    thermal management techniques.

  • Hands-on experience with

    DFM/DFA, FEA, and tolerance stack-up analysis.

  • Familiar with

    manufacturing processes

    (injection molding, sheet metal, extrusion, die casting).
  • Experience in

    prototype validation and reliability testing (vibration, drop, shock, temperature, humidity)

    .

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience designing

    consumer, industrial, or IoT devices

    .
  • Knowledge of

    miniaturized designs, PCB fitment, and grounding techniques.

  • Familiarity with

    simulation tools

    (Ansys, SolidWorks Simulation).
  • Exposure to

    sustainability and eco-friendly material selection.

  • Experience managing

    vendors, design houses, and tooling suppliers.
