Lead I - DB - Software Engineering

Technical Lead with over 7 years of expertise in managing time-sensitive, multi-stakeholder projects, specifically within thehealth plan data domain (Enrollments, Claims, Payments). The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation inSQL (Oracle, MS SQL) andcloud technologies (AWS\/GCP preferred) . This is ahands-on leadership role , responsible for guiding a team of engineers, resolving critical data issues, and ensuring smooth project execution with high impact on business operations.Key Responsibilities:Technical Leadership & Project ExecutionLead the end-to-end execution of complex data integration and analytics solutions, including design, development, testing, and deployment.Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of high-priority, business-critical projects.Provide technical direction, enforce coding standards, and ensure performance tuning and data management best practices.Lead resolution ofSev1\/Sev2 incidents and drive root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.Collaborate with architects and business teams to evaluate system requirements and design scalable, robust solutions.Database Development & OptimizationWrite, optimize, and maintain complexSQL queries acrossOracle andMS SQL Server environments.Develop stored procedures, triggers, and scripts to support data operations and analytics needs.Troubleshoot data mapping\/translation issues across source-target pipelines.Cloud & Infrastructure ManagementDesign and support scalable solutions incloud environments such asAWS orGCP .Work closely with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to manage performance, cost, and security.Implement best practices for cloud-based data storage, compute, and data processing services.Team & Stakeholder ManagementManage and mentor a team of7+ engineers , including performance reviews, skill development, and team building.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business users, analysts, and data engineers to gather requirements and deliver impactful solutions.Create and maintaintechnical documentation , architecture diagrams, and knowledge repositories.Lead stakeholder communication through reports, presentations, and technical demos usingExcel ,PowerPoint , and visualization tools.Process Improvement & AutomationDevelopscripts to automate routine data processes and reduce manual overhead.Identify opportunities forcost savings ,efficiency , andscalability in data workflows.Continuously improve development and operational processes through innovation and tooling.Required Skills & Qualifications:7+ years of experience in delivering time-critical, cross-functional data projects.3+ years of experience in aTechnical Lead role, including project ownership and team mentorship.5+ years of hands-on experience working withhealth plan data , includingenrollments, claims, and payments .Proven experience leading teams of7 or more engineers .Expertise inSQL (Oracle, MS SQL) with the ability to write and optimize complex queries.Experience withSev1\/Sev2 incident handling and real-time troubleshooting.Proficiency inscripting (e.g., Shell, Python) for automation and debugging.Strong skills inExcel ,PowerPoint , and delivering impactful stakeholder presentations.Exposure tocloud platforms (AWS or GCP) in a data engineering or infrastructure role.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards in healthcare (e.g., HIPAA).Experience with data integration tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Apache Nifi).Familiarity with Agile\/Scrum methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).Understanding of DevOps practices and CI\/CD pipelines.
