Lead Geotechnical Engineer

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist at Stantec, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of geotechnical engineers, geo-environmental engineers, and engineering geologists to provide support to Stantec's global operations. Your role will involve planning, coordinating, and managing a diverse range of projects across various sectors such as Dams, Water and Wastewater, Buildings, and Mining. You will be responsible for managing project scope, schedule, budget, and coordination of regional and Pune project teams. In this role, you will have the opportunity to prepare technical correspondence, reports, work plans, investigations, grant applications, and project specifications. Your responsibilities will also include participating in proposal development, technical conference presentations, and supporting general marketing and business development activities. Additionally, you will be involved in coordinating multiple projects, managing data, QA/QC, and providing guidance, training, and oversight to staff. Key Responsibilities: - Lead a team of geotechnical engineers, geo-environmental engineers, and engineering geologists - Plan, coordinate, and manage a diverse range of projects - Prepare technical reports, work plans, investigations, grant applications, and project specifications - Participate in proposal development and technical conference presentations - Manage data, QA/QC, interpretation, evaluation/comparison to regulatory standards - Provide guidance, training, and oversight of staff - Plan and take responsibility for employee recruitment, engagement, and retention Qualifications Required: - Masters degree qualified, ideally in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering, with 12-15 years of relevant experience - Strong technical skills and experience in Geotechnical engineering field - Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and assignments - Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with technical professionals, clients, and regulatory stakeholders - Experience using relevant software such as GeoStudio, Openground, Leapfrog, Plaxis, etc. - Ability to interface with clients, respond quickly, and deliver projects with a supporting engineering team In summary, as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist at Stantec, you will play a key role in leading a team, managing projects, and contributing to the growth of the geotechnical and geoenvironmental team.
