Senior Geotechnical Engineer - India Office Manager We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead and manage our India office operations. This is a senior leadership position that combines deep technical expertise with business development responsibilities, requiring a seasoned professional who can drive both technical excellence and commercial growth. Key Responsibilities : Technical Leadership Provide expert geotechnical engineering guidance and oversight for all projects Review and approve technical designs, reports, and recommendations Ensure compliance with Indian standards, international best practices, and company quality standards Lead complex geotechnical investigations and foundation design projects Mentor and develop junior engineering staff Business Development & Client Relations Leverage extensive industry network to identify and secure new business opportunities Prepare competitive technical and commercial proposals for tenders Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, government agencies, and industry partners Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and technical meetings Develop strategic partnerships to expand market presence Office Management Oversee day-to-day operations of the India office Manage project delivery, timelines, and budgets Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and external suppliers Ensure effective resource allocation and team productivity Implement company policies and procedures locally Commercial Operations Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for prospective projects Negotiate contracts and terms with clients and suppliers Monitor project profitability and financial performance Manage vendor relationships and procurement processes Essential RequirementsExperience & Qualifications Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering (Master's preferred) Professional engineering license/certification Proven track record in both consulting and project management roles Technical Expertise Comprehensive knowledge of geotechnical investigation techniques Expertise in foundation design, slope stability, and ground improvement methods Proficiency with geotechnical software and analysis tools Understanding of Indian soil conditions and geological challenges Knowledge of relevant Indian codes (IS codes) and international standards Business & Leadership Skills Established professional network in the Indian construction and infrastructure industry Proven ability to win new business and manage client relationships Experience in preparing tenders, proposals, and commercial quotations Strong leadership and team management capabilities Excellent communication and presentation skills Industry Connections Existing relationships with contractors, developers, and government agencies Established vendor and supplier network Active participation in professional engineering associations Knowledge of local market conditions and competitive landscape Desired Qualifications Experience with large infrastructure projects (highways, railways, ports, industrial facilities) International project experience Advanced certifications in geotechnical engineering Proficiency in multiple Indian regional languages with Bengali and Hindi mandatory Experience with digital tools including word and excel What We Offer Competitive salary package commensurate with experience Performance-based incentives tied to business growth Comprehensive benefits package Professional development opportunities Autonomy to build and lead the India operations International exposure and collaboration opportunities Location Hooghly, West Bengal Application Process Interested candidates should submit: Detailed CV highlighting relevant experience and achievements Cover letter outlining vision for growing the India office References from previous clients or employers Portfolio of significant projects and business development successes We are an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
