Job Title: Lead Field Coordinator – Indigenous Textiles & CraftsLocation: On site in Odisha (With travel across textile clusters in Odisha)Employment type: Full-time About Boito Design Private Limited: Boito Design Private Limited is a conscientious luxury fashion label dedicated to reviving and promoting Odisha’s indigenous textiles by working directly with skilled artisans. Rooted in rich handloom heritage, Boito collaborates with weaving communities to preserve traditional craftsmanship and support sustainable livelihoods. Job summary: We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Lead Field Coordinator to work closely with artisans in Odisha’s remote textile clusters. The ideal candidate will have expertise in indigenous arts, crafts, and textiles, along with the ability to engage with weavers, dyers, and craft communities. This role requires extensive travel, field research, artisan collaboration, and strategic planning to strengthen and sustain traditional crafts. Key responsibilities: 1. Field engagement & artisan collaboration: • Travelling extensively to textile hubs, engaging with artisans, and understanding their craft techniques.• Building strong relationships with weavers, dyers, and craftspeople to support skill enhancement and community development. 2. Cluster expansion & artisan network development: • Exploring new clusters and identifying weaving communities that can join the Boito ecosystem.• Conducting feasibility studies and research on traditional crafts and textiles.• Adopting more artisan networks to ensure appropriate work allocation, enabling greater livelihood creation. 3. Skill development & quality enhancement: • Working with artisans to explore new possibilities while preserving authenticity. 4. Supply chain coordination: • Coordinate production timelines and logistics to ensure smooth operations. 5. Training & capacity building: • Support artisans in documentation, costing, and adapting to digital tools. 6. Research & documentation: • Maintain detailed records of textile traditions, artisan stories, and process innovations. Essential requirements: • Excellent communication skills in Odia and English.• Strong understanding of Odisha’s traditional arts, crafts, and textiles.• Experience working with rural artisan communities.• Knowledge of handloom processes and sustainable textile production.• Ability to travel extensively and work in remote locations.• Passion for cultural preservation and social impact. Preferred qualifications & experience: • Degree in Textile Studies, Anthropology, Rural Development, or related field.• Experience in craft-based enterprises, NGOs, or social impact initiatives.• Familiarity with digital tools to support artisan businesses.
