Lead Engineer - Java/Microservices

The Applications Development Senior Manager position at our company involves overseeing a team or department to establish and implement new or updated application systems and programs in collaboration with the Technology team. As a senior management role, your primary goal will be to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities. Your responsibilities will include managing one or more Applications Development teams to achieve set objectives and handle personnel-related tasks such as performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions. You will leverage your extensive knowledge and skills in various Applications Development areas to provide technical oversight across systems and applications. Additionally, you will review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects, contribute to formulating strategies, and develop a comprehensive understanding of how different business areas work together to achieve organizational goals. In this role, you will play a key part in monitoring the delivery of end results in the Applications Development area, participating in budget management, and addressing day-to-day staff management issues. Ensuring adherence to essential procedures, defining standards, and managing resources and work allocation within the team or project will also be part of your responsibilities. You will need to assess risks when making business decisions, uphold compliance with laws and regulations, and maintain high ethical standards in personal and professional conduct. For this position, we are looking for candidates with 6-10 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry, including experience as an Applications Development Manager and in a senior Applications Development role. Stakeholder and people management experience, demonstrated leadership skills, and proven project management abilities are essential. Basic knowledge of industry practices and standards, as well as clear and concise communication skills, are also required. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is necessary, while a Master's degree is preferred.
