Position Overview

The Lead Electrical Engineer will lead, review, and deliver all electrical engineering activities for gas compressor station projects and other oil & gas / petrochemical consultancy assignments across India, the USA, and Turkey.


The role includes providing technical leadership, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with international standards, and mentoring junior engineers. The selected candidate will ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables in line with project objectives and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering design for gas compressor stations, pipelines, and oil & gas facilities.
  • Develop SLDs, load lists, cable schedules, grounding layouts, and power system studies.
  • Review vendor documents: switchgear, transformers, MCCs, VFDs, UPS, lighting, batteries, and field instruments.
  • Coordinate with process, mechanical, civil, structural, instrumentation, and piping teams.
  • Perform short circuit studies, load flow, motor starting, relay coordination, and arc flash analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, API, NFPA, and client standards.
  • Prepare design basis documents, specifications, data sheets, and material requisitions.
  • Participate in HAZOP, SIL studies, 3D model reviews, and design review meetings.
  • Provide technical support for procurement, vendor evaluation, and bid clarifications.
  • Lead interdisciplinary meetings and resolve technical challenges.
  • Ensure timely delivery of engineering documents as per project schedules.
  • Support construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities as required.

Required Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 10 - 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical EPC or consultancy.
  • Expertise in ETAP / SKM / EasyPower for power system studies.
  • Strong understanding of hazardous area classification and electrical equipment selection.

Technical Competencies

  • Expertise in LV, MV, and HV power distribution design.
  • Knowledge of grounding and lightning protection systems.
  • Experience in relay protection system design and selection.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety, zone classification, and NFPA 70 / NEC.
  • Ability to review and approve vendor documents.
  • Understanding of electrical installation and construction practices.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs and multidisciplinary drawings.
