Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced academic editor to join our team. This role involves academic editing, project management, client interaction, and mentorship. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in editing manuscripts from life sciences or medical sciences and a passion for continuous learning and development.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Editing & Formatting (Mandatory)

• Edit manuscripts for clarity, style, grammar, and scientific accuracy.
• Ensure adherence to publication standards and apply referencing and style guides.
• Format documents, including citations, figures, tables, and references, according to journal guidelines.

Project Management (Highly Preferable)

• Manage projects from manuscript submission to final production.
• Create and maintain timelines to meet publication deadlines.
• Adapt to project changes, ensuring smooth workflow and problem-solving.
• Ensure timely creation and submission of reports.

Client Account Management (Preferable)

• Liaise with international clients and authors to manage expectations and meet production goals.
• Provide proactive updates and address client concerns throughout the publication process.

Team Mentorship (Preferable)

• Mentor and guide the editing team, particularly new editors.
• Oversee skill development and professional progression of the team.

Communication & Stakeholder Management (Highly Preferable)

• Communicate effectively with authors, clients, and all internal stakeholders.
• Simplify complex topics and ensure everybody associated with the project is aligned on project status and expectations.

Other requirements

Adaptability & Continuous Learning (Highly Preferable)

• Stay updated with editorial tools, scientific publishing trends, and manuscript production technologies.
• Be adaptable in a fast-paced environment and willing to take on new challenges.
