As a Lab Facilitator/Science Laboratory Assistant, you play a crucial role in supporting the effective and safe operation of science laboratories. Your responsibilities include: - **Lab Preparation & Support:** - Prepare chemicals, specimens, equipment, and other resources for practical classes in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. - Assist teachers and students during laboratory sessions, providing technical support and guidance. - Set up and dismantle lab equipment before and after experiments. - **Safety & Compliance:** - Maintain high health and safety standards in the labs. - Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals and biological materials. - Conduct routine safety checks, assist in emergency procedures, and keep safety data sheets updated. - **Equipment & Inventory Management:** - Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment for functionality and safety. - Keep an accurate inventory of lab materials, requesting replenishment when needed. - Ensure proper labeling and storage of all substances and apparatus. - **Documentation & Record Keeping:** - Maintain detailed records of experiments, chemical inventories, and safety procedures. - Assist in documenting practical work for student reports, especially in IB or IGCSE programs. - **Curriculum & Instructional Support:** - Support practical components of science curricula and collaborate with teachers to design new experiments. - Help manage science fair materials, projects, or external science competitions. - **Maintenance & Housekeeping:** - Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of laboratory spaces. - Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment for repairs and ensure safe operation of utilities. **Qualifications & Requirements:** - Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Science (Chemistry, Biology, Physics) or Laboratory Technology. - Minimum 2 years of experience in a school or institutional laboratory setting. - Knowledge of lab safety procedures and chemical handling protocols. - Strong organizational and multitasking skills. - Proficiency in English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus. - Familiarity with international curricula such as IB, Cambridge, or American is desirable. *Note: No additional details about the company were included in the provided job description.* As a Lab Facilitator/Science Laboratory Assistant, you play a crucial role in supporting the effective and safe operation of science laboratories.
