We specialize in formulating and producing innovative and trend setting shampoos, conditioners, lotions, body washes, and lip balms — combining innovation, sustainability, and clean beauty science.

We are looking for a Lab Cosmetologist who is passionate about creating high-performance formulations, improving product stability, and working closely with the production and marketing teams to bring concepts to life.

Role Overview

As a Lab Cosmetologist, you will be responsible for research, formulation, and testing of new cosmetic products while maintaining high standards of safety, stability, and compliance.
You’ll lead the lab’s day-to-day development work, optimize existing formulas, and ensure consistent product quality from lab to production scale.

Key Responsibilities Formulation & Product Development

• Develop new formulations for personal care products — shampoos, conditioners, lotions, serums, scrubs, and lip balms.
• Adjust and improve existing formulations for better stability, texture, and sensory appeal.
• Select and evaluate raw materials, emulsifiers, fragrances, and actives for suitability and performance.
• Maintain accurate records of formulation trials, ingredient compositions, and testing results.
• Scale up formulations from lab trials to pilot and production batches.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Conduct physical, chemical, and stability testing for all formulations.
• Monitor viscosity, pH, appearance, fragrance, and microbial stability as per cosmetic standards.
• Work with QC and QA teams to ensure GMP compliance and batch-to-batch consistency.
• Prepare documentation including COAs, MSDS, and batch manufacturing records.

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure formulations comply with BIS, FDA (India, Europe, US, Australia), and other cosmetic regulatory requirements.
• Maintain detailed formulation records and raw material documentation for audits.
• Support regulatory submissions and product registration documentation.

Innovation & Collaboration

• Stay updated on global cosmetic trends, new actives, and sustainable ingredients.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop unique product concepts and prototypes.
• Work with the procurement team to evaluate ingredient cost and supplier quality.
• Conduct sensory evaluations and consumer testing sessions as required.

Key Requirements

• Education: B.Sc./M.Sc./B.Tech/M.Tech in Cosmetic Science, Cosmetology, Chemistry, or related fields.
• Experience: 4-10 years in cosmetic formulation, preferably in personal care or skin care manufacturing.
• Skills:
• Strong formulation experience in emulsions, surfactant systems, and anhydrous bases.
• Knowledge of stability testing, preservative systems, and cosmetic safety.
• Familiarity with GMP, BIS, and labeling requirements for cosmetics.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and documentation-strong.
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as homogenizers, pH meters, viscometers, etc.
