L1 Application Support Engineer

Position: L1 Application Support Engineer
Experience: 1 – 6 years (1–3 years for Professional, 3–6 years for Senior Professional)
Location: Kolkata (On-site, Wipro Office)
Shift: 24x7 rotational shifts

Role Summary:

The L1 Application Support Engineer will handle non-SOP based incidents, provide advanced troubleshooting, coordinate with L2 teams, and support critical banking applications. The role involves working closely with business users, monitoring applications, and ensuring timely resolution of tickets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Resolve non-SOP based tickets related to in-scope applications.
• Perform and coordinate application maintenance activities (e.g., housekeeping, service/server restarts).
• Troubleshoot and resolve application incidents; escalate to L2 where necessary.
• Collaborate with L2 teams to gain knowledge for left-shifted tickets.
• Support proactive monitoring and non-ticketed operational activities.
• Assist in automation initiatives to reduce ticket volumes.
• Participate in periodic DR/BCP drills and audits.
• Create and maintain a knowledge base for faster resolutions.
• Engage vendors for resolution of external/internal audit observations within timelines.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of banking applications, business processes, and transaction workflows.
• Hands-on experience with application monitoring, incident management, and ITIL best practices.
• Ability to work under pressure in a 24x7 support environment.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with ITSM tools and reporting.
• Knowledge of database basics, application logs, and system integrations preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
