Position: L1 Application Support Engineer Experience: 1 – 6 years (1–3 years for Professional, 3–6 years for Senior Professional) Location: Kolkata (On-site, Wipro Office) Shift: 24x7 rotational shifts Role Summary: The L1 Application Support Engineer will handle non-SOP based incidents, provide advanced troubleshooting, coordinate with L2 teams, and support critical banking applications. Key Responsibilities: Resolve non-SOP based tickets related to in-scope applications. Perform and coordinate application maintenance activities (e.g., housekeeping, service/server restarts). Troubleshoot and resolve application incidents; escalate to L2 where necessary. Collaborate with L2 teams to gain knowledge for left-shifted tickets. Support proactive monitoring and non-ticketed operational activities. Assist in automation initiatives to reduce ticket volumes. Participate in periodic DR/BCP drills and audits. Create and maintain a knowledge base for faster resolutions. Engage vendors for resolution of external/internal audit observations within timelines. Skills & Competencies: Strong understanding of banking applications, business processes, and transaction workflows. Hands-on experience with application monitoring, incident management, and ITIL best practices. Ability to work under pressure in a 24x7 support environment. The L0 Application Support Engineer will provide first-line support for banking applications, ensuring quick resolution for simple, SOP-based issues and timely escalation to higher-level teams. The role demands a proactive approach in monitoring applications, responding to alerts, and ensuring uninterrupted application availability. Provide one-touch resolution for basic issues such as password resets, account unlocks, and FAQ responses. Acknowledge and log calls/emails/tickets from end-users into the ITSM tool and assign to the correct resolver group. Perform SOP-based application support for ticket handling and resolution. Monitor health and performance of critical applications (“eyes on glass”). Execute ready-for-business and post-release checks for in-scope applications. Handle event/alert management and report issues promptly. Follow job scheduling and monitoring procedures, escalate job failures. Maintain and update SOP documentation.
