Kitchen Steward

Job Brief As a Kitchen Steward, you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen environment. This position involves assisting culinary staff by ensuring that all kitchen equipment and utensils are cleaned and sanitized, as well as supporting food preparation activities. The ideal candidate should possess experience in a fast-paced kitchen setting, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and exhibit a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. Responsibilities Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to meet health and safety standards. Assist in food preparation tasks as directed by chefs and kitchen staff. Collect and dispose of kitchen waste following established procedures. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report shortages to management. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards. Support the kitchen team during peak hours by efficiently managing cleaning tasks. Participate in routine kitchen inspections to ensure cleanliness and organization. Promote a collaborative atmosphere by working closely with kitchen staff and management. Requirements Previous experience in a kitchen stewardship or similar role preferred. Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, lifting, and prolonged periods of movement. Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Basic understanding of kitchen equipment and cleaning methods. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
