As an Occupational Health and Safety Assistant, your role involves assisting in monitoring and maintaining safety standards on the site to ensure compliance with local safety regulations and company policies. You will conduct routine safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards or safety concerns, reporting findings to senior staff. Supporting the development and implementation of safety programs and training sessions for employees is an essential part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will be involved in accident and incident investigations to determine causes and recommend corrective actions. Keeping accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and safety audits, as well as preparing and reviewing safety documentation like safety plans and reports, are key tasks. Ensuring the availability, maintenance, and proper use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) by employees is crucial. You will also provide support during safety drills and emergency response planning exercises, participate in safety meetings, and collaborate with other departments to address safety-related issues and implement effective solutions. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor and maintain safety standards on site - Conduct safety inspections and audits - Support the development and implementation of safety programs - Assist in accident and incident investigations - Maintain accurate records of safety incidents and inspections - Prepare and review safety documentation - Ensure availability and proper use of safety equipment and PPE - Provide support during safety drills and emergency planning - Participate in safety meetings - Collaborate with other departments on safety protocols and procedures Qualifications Required: - Bachelors degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred) - Familiarity with safety regulations such as OSHA, ISO, or local standards (preferred) - Strong attention to detail and risk assessment skills - Effective communication and collaboration abilities - Good understanding of workplace hazards and safe practices - Strong organizational and multitasking skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) In this full-time role, you will benefit from food provided, paid sick time, and Provident Fund. The schedule is a day shift with the opportunity for a performance bonus. Ideally, you should have at least 1 year of work experience in a related field. The work location is in person.
