Job Purpose

To plan, develop and execute media and communication strategies that enhance the public image and visibility of the Chamber, its leadership, and key initiatives across traditional and digital platforms.


Key Responsibilities

Media Relations:

  1. Develop and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and media houses.
  2. Draft and disseminate press releases, media advisories, and official statements.
  3. Organize press conferences, interviews, media roundtables, and briefings.
  4. Ensure regular and impactful media coverage for ASSOCHAM’s events, reports, and leadership.
  5. Maintain and update a comprehensive media contact database.

Content Creation:

  1. Develop high-quality content for speeches, op-eds, articles, and official communications.
  2. Assist in preparing talking points and briefing notes for leadership.
  3. Create press kits, media Q&As, backgrounders, and communication collaterals.

Digital & Social Media:

  1. Coordinate with the digital team to promote ASSOCHAM activities through social media platforms.
  2. Draft social media content aligned with the organisation's messaging.
  3. Monitor digital mentions and coverage and highlight significant developments.
  4. Internal Communications:
  5. Support in developing internal communication strategies and newsletters.
  6. Ensure consistent messaging across all channels and departments.

Monitoring & Reporting:

  1. Track media coverage and prepare daily/weekly/monthly coverage reports.
  2. Evaluate effectiveness of media campaigns and suggest improvements.
  3. Maintain archives of media coverage and communication materials.


Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in mass communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
  • 12–15 years of relevant experience in media/public affairs/PR agency/corporate communication.
  • Proven track record of working with government bodies, industry associations, startups, and investors.

Skills (Soft and Functional)

  • Strong media network and understanding of national/regional media landscape.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills in English (Hindi proficiency is a plus).
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, media monitoring tools, and social media platforms.
