This position is part of the NWO-funded project “Survivable DC Power Systems for Ships,” which addresses the challenges of energy transition, smart manning, and survivability in naval and maritime sectors. The research aims to design and control fault-tolerant, decentralized DC energy systems to ensure the continuous availability of power and energy on board ships, even during extreme events such as fires, floods, or missile impacts. The successful candidate will join the Department of Maritime & Transport Technology, working within the Group on Sustainable Drive and Energy Systems under the supervision of Dr. Henk Polinder and Dr. Andrea Coraddu. The research will be conducted in close cooperation with national academic and industrial partners, providing access to real-world use cases and state-of-the-art ship data. The candidate will also have the opportunity to validate control strategies using real components in the zero-emission laboratory of MARIN. Otis is growing and is looking for an installation mechanic for one of our entities located in Siliguri our priority is to ensure the safety of passengers and technical stakeholders by safely installing a portfolio of elevator / escalator units. On a typical day you will: Install new elevators with quality and efficiency Work in a safe manner in accordance with all Environmental Health & Safety guidelines. Stay away overnight as and when required Liaise directly with the customer while on site to build a good working relationship Conduct inspection before and after installation to ensure high quality and safety standards What you will need to be successful (adjust for local regulations) As a qualified mechanic, it is essential that you have knowledge of elevator equipment and that you can apply elevator engineering principles to Installation. You are qualified to install elevators to the standards set in your country You hold a driver's license (as necessary) You have at least 6 months of experience in the field of elevators, ideally acquired in the assembly activity or at least experience on site and / or installation You have good electrical and mechanical skills.
