Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Jira Developer to join our IT team. This role will be responsible for designing, configuring, and optimizing solutions within Atlassian Cloud Premium, including Jira Software, Jira Service Management (JSM), and the IT Asset Management (ITAM) module. The ideal candidate will also have strong expertise in Confluence administration, ensuring our teams have well-structured, user-friendly sites and workspaces that follow best practices.

The Jira Developer will collaborate closely with stakeholders across IT and business functions to deliver scalable, efficient workflows and integrations that support our operations. This is a hands-on role requiring both technical proficiency and customer-focused problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain custom workflows, automations, screens, fields, and permissions in Jira Software and JSM.
• Configure and enhance the ITAM module to support enterprise asset tracking and lifecycle management.
• Partner with IT and business teams to translate requirements into Jira solutions, ensuring usability and scalability.
• Establish and maintain best practice governance for Jira and Confluence environments.
• Develop and manage Confluence sites and workspaces, creating templates, knowledge bases, and structured documentation for teams.
• Integrate Jira with other Atlassian products and third-party tools as needed.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with Atlassian Cloud Premium standards.
• Provide user training, documentation, and support to drive adoption and maximize value of the Atlassian ecosystem.
• Stay current with Atlassian product updates and marketplace apps to recommend improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Jira administration and development, with proven expertise in Jira Software and Jira Service Management.
• Strong knowledge of Atlassian Cloud Premium (not just Server/Data Center).
• Experience configuring and administering the ITAM module within Jira Service Management.
• Proficiency with Confluence site and space administration, including page hierarchies, templates, permissions, and best practices for content organization.
• Familiarity with Atlassian Marketplace apps, REST APIs, and integrations.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working in IT, application development, infrastructure, or analytics environments is a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Scripting knowledge (e.g., Automation for Jira, ScriptRunner, Power Scripts) for advanced workflow customization.
• Experience with reporting and dashboarding in Jira for executive and operational visibility.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices and how to align Jira Service Management workflows with ITSM standards.
