Department Summary

The Middle and Back Office IT Group is responsible for the development, management and support MOBO Applications, Middleware and Messaging systems. This also includes the development, delivery and deployment of new systems, technologies and services. The group provides a dedicated development and support capability working closely with business to understand and deliver their particular technology needs.

Job Responsibilities

As a developer you will be responsible for :

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code
• Development of components required for the rollout of MOBO functionality.
• Liaise with team lead and other development teams to agree and document design of interrelated functions.
• Support team lead and development manager by providing reliable estimates for work assigned and alerting them of delays or issues as early as possible.
• Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Contributing towards betterment of delivery e.g. peer reviews, unit testing etc…
• Ensure code is rigorously tested before deployment to QA.

Skills and Experience

• 5-8 years of experience in Java software development.
• Strong Hands on Core Java skills [Must have].
• Good working knowledge of Spring framework (Boot, Integration, Batch, Actuator)
• Good working knowledge of messaging systems (JMS, Solace, EMS, MQ etc.)
• Good Knowledge in Relational database, Oracle, SQL (DML, DDL).
• Familiar with various design patterns
• Working knowledge of any of Unix OS [Solaris, Linux etc]
• Hands on experience on any code management tool like Git/Bitbucket etc.
• Hands-on experience of Maven.
• Good Exposure to development environments and related tools (Build management / Source Control management / Continuous Integration / Code Review Tools).
• Strong inter-personal skills.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical skills
• HandsOn Java 1.8 knowledge

Any Additional Requirements

• Exposure to Distributed Systems Architecture.
• Exposure to middle/back office functions.
• Familiarity with Agile development processes and techniques.
• Exposure to software engineering tools/applications (like Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins).

Educational / Professional Qualifications

• Graduate Degree qualified in Technology discipline
