Job Description

The IT Sourcing Lead Consultant is aligned to the Information Technology Software category as an individual contributor. In this role, you will be part of the centralized enterprise/global procurement team, supporting the Director of your specific category.

As a Sourcing Lead Consultant, you will support the execution of category strategies, develop sourcing strategies and lead primarily high-complexity sourcing events to drive down the total cost of ownership, with a focus on quality, cost, delivery, risk, sustainability and diversity. You will have strong relationship-building and influential skills to gain support from business stakeholders, including senior leadership, to achieve an understanding of and commitment to category and sourcing strategies. You will be responsible for working with internal procurement teams and key business leaders to identify business requirements and execute category strategies and sourcing projects.

Work with internal stakeholders and category teams to understand business objectives, requirements, market /industry benchmarks/trends, and company purchasing patterns to assess sourcing opportunities, develop sourcing strategies and lead sourcing events

Coordinates with multiple support teams to drive category initiative implementation, lead category program and process outcomes, and develop and manage a procurement project pipeline

Utilizes industry and future trend analysis to identify opportunities to implement strategic change to supplier relationships and supplier quality measures.

Leverages quantitative and qualitative internal and external category information and deep subject matter expertise to direct category maintenance and oversight as well as to support sourcing initiatives

Collaboratively influences and integrates category demand plans and category purchasing adherence utilizing syndicated data

Socializes category metrics (Value Tracking, KPIs, SLA’s, etc.), monitors and reports on realized value, category performance and category adherence by communicating accountabilities for adherence tracking, analysis and reporting.

Facilitates and communicates category objectives, initiatives and non-adherence with cross-functional stakeholders and oversight committees.

Leads execution of the sourcing strategy for primarily high-complexity sourcing projects including the ability to create and utilize appropriate sourcing tools / templates, align business client needs, negotiate with suppliers and provide transparency into savings opportunities.

Facilitates business reviews with suppliers and internal clients to measure supplier performance, contract adherence and identify performance issues and manage resolution through on-going process/service delivery improvement.

Leads discussions with internal business stakeholders, expense managers, and key stakeholders to identify demand management guidelines which will govern the use of the commodities being contracted for.

Executes all facets of the source to pay processes, ensuring compliance and identifying opportunities for improvement

Requirements

10 or more years of procurement experience

Relevant category experience required

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or business or equivalent

CPSM, C.P.M. preferred

Experience supporting a North America-based stakeholder group preferred

Deep experience in category management and procurement leadership roles with accountability for global value delivery

Experience driving value in large global procurement organization by analyzing long term impact of new or anticipated strategies and developing actionable insights.

Expert ability to transform data into insights by pulling data from different areas with the goal of creating a compelling story.

Expert in either Software/SaaS/Enterprise Hardware/Telecom/Datacenter sourcing

Expert communication skills, both verbal and written

Expert in contract drafting, redlining and contract negotiation

Excellent project management, prioritization and resource utilization abilities

Advanced change management and customer service excellence mindsets.

Experience working in an agile work environment

Experience leading high complexity sourcing projects

Intermediate supplier relationship management skill set

Intermediate analytical capabilities including cost modeling

Experience with SAP Ariba strongly preferred

Microsoft Office Suite skills (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
