About the Role

IT Infrastructure & Security Operations Engineer

Key Responsibilities

🔹 HCI & Virtualization Management

• Administer and optimize

  Nutanix HCI clusters

  .
• Manage

  VMware/Hyper-V

  environments (migrations, patching, troubleshooting).
• Perform resource utilization analysis and

  capacity planning

  .

🔹 Server & OS Administration

• Oversee

  Windows Server (AD, GPO, File/Print, DNS, DHCP)

  and Linux environments.
• Implement

  OS hardening, patching, and backup

  procedures.
• Ensure

  DR/BCP readiness

  (Azure Site Recovery, replication testing, failover drills).

🔹 Datacenter, Network & Cloud Operations

• Manage

  on-prem datacenter servers, racks, and network devices

  .
• Oversee

  cloud integrations (Azure, OCI, AWS)

  for DR, backup, and hybrid workloads.
• Strong knowledge of

  L2/L3 networking, VLANs, VPNs, Zero Trust, segmentation

  .
• Configure

  firewalls, WAF/WAAP, and policy-based security rules

  .
• Monitor server room health (UPS, PDU, AC, sensors).

🔹 Security & Compliance

• Manage & support

  Firewalls, MFA, EDR/XDR (SentinelOne), vulnerability remediation

  .
• Ensure compliance with

  ISO, VAPT, DR drills, cyber-insurance audits

  .

🔹 Storage & Backup Management

• Administer

  backup solutions (Commvault, Cloud Backup, NAS)

  .
• Define

  backup retention strategies, secondary backups, and restore testing

  .

🔹 Operational Support & Escalations

• Handle

  L2/L3 escalations

  for infrastructure and security issues.
• Lead

  Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

  for major incidents.
• Mentor and guide junior team members.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of experience in

  IT Infrastructure & Security Operations

  .
• Strong hands-on expertise in:

• Nutanix HCI

  administration

• VMware/Hyper-V

  virtualization

• Windows & Linux server administration

• Networking (L2/L3, VLAN, VPN, Zero Trust)

• Proven knowledge of

  firewall administration (Palo Alto, Sophos)

  .
• Familiarity with

  DR, backup, and replication technologies

  (Commvault, Azure ASR).
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate in IT/Computer Science (preferred).
• Relevant certifications:

  Nutanix NCA, Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE

  (advantageous).
