Job Description

Role & responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning:

    Develop and implement the organization's technology strategy in alignment with its business objectives.
  2. Team Leadership:

    Lead and manage the IT department, including hiring, training, and supervising staff.
  3. Infrastructure Management:

    Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks and telecommunications systems.
  4. Systems Development:

    Coordinate the development and implementation of new systems and applications to support business operations and improve efficiency.
  5. Security Management:

    Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures to protect the organization's data and systems from threats and breaches.
  6. Budgeting and Resource Allocation:

    Develop and manage the IT department budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to meet business needs.
  7. Vendor Management:

    Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, including negotiating contracts and evaluating performance.
  8. Compliance:

    Ensure that the organization's IT practices comply with relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA and PCI DSS.
  9. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:

    Develop and maintain plans for disaster recovery and business continuity to minimize downtime and data loss in the event of a disruption.
  10. Stakeholder Communication:

    Communicate regularly with senior management and other Directors to provide updates on IT projects, initiatives and issues.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  2. Proven experience in a senior IT management role, with a track record of successfully leading IT teams and implementing technology initiatives.
  3. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  4. In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and technologies, including hardware, software, networks and cybersecurity.
  5. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a strategic mindset.
  6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  7. Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
  8. Project management and Microsoft certification (e.g., PMP and Microsoft) is a plus.
  9. Experience in the industry or sector relevant to the organization (e.g., healthcare, information technology, manufacturing) is desirable.
