IT Help Desk Technician

As a Support Assistant at Bradken, you will report to the Regional IT Operations Team Lead and play a crucial role as the initial point of contact for users encountering technical issues. You will deliver assistance through various channels such as phone, email, chat, or in-person interactions. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting common hardware and software problems, offering clear guidance to users on resolving issues like printer malfunctions, connectivity problems, and account lockouts. Being a part of our 3000-strong global team, you will contribute to providing innovative solutions to our customers and work towards our goal of achieving carbon-neutrality by 2030. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and configuring new devices, conducting routine maintenance tasks like software updates and system cleanups, and maintaining accurate records of IT assets and licenses. Additionally, you will be involved in tasks such as hardware repairs, basic network troubleshooting, antivirus installations, and promoting cybersecurity awareness. You will also support senior IT staff on larger projects, assist in creating technical documentation, and ensure compliance with company IT policies. Strong communication skills, a solid understanding of IT fundamentals, and a proactive attitude to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment are key attributes we are looking for in candidates. Key Technical Criteria: - Prior experience as a Help Desk Operator or IT Support Assistant is preferred, with ideally 2-3 years of relevant experience - Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with users and IT teams - Demonstrated patience and ability to deliver exceptional customer service to users facing technical challenges - Proficiency in hardware, software, networks, and operating systems, with skills in problem analysis, root cause identification, and solution implementation - A proactive mindset with a strong desire for continuous learning - A bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology is preferred - Possession of CompTIA A+ certification is advantageous but not mandatory Please note that this role may involve working beyond standard business hours and is based in Coimbatore.
