Interventional Cardiologist

Position:

• Lead and perform diagnostic coronary angiography and complex percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) including primary PCI for STEMI and high-risk elective cases in a busy cath lab.
• Deliver structural heart therapies and transcatheter interventions in collaboration with cardiac surgery and imaging—ensure safe patient selection and procedural planning.
• Perform and interpret adjunctive intravascular imaging (IVUS/OCT) and physiologic assessments to guide interventions and optimise outcomes.
• Manage peri-procedural care: vascular access strategies, temporary pacing, haemodynamic support, and post-procedure complication management.
• Contribute to clinical governance: maintain procedure logs, follow institutional protocols, report outcomes, and participate in morbidity & mortality reviews.
• Mentor and train junior cardiology staff, fellows, and cath lab teams; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to streamline pathways and improve throughput.
  

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)
• Coronary angiography
• Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS)
• Optical coherence tomography (OCT)
• Rotational atherectomy
• Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification
  

Preferred

• Experience with transcatheter structural interventions (TAVR / Mitral interventions)
• Fellowship/subspecialty training in Interventional Cardiology
• Experience in cath lab leadership, quality improvement and training programs
  

Qualifications

• Medical qualification with MD/DNB (Cardiology) or equivalent and valid Indian medical registration.
• Proven consultant-level experience performing independent diagnostic and interventional procedures in a high-volume cath lab.
• Willingness to work on-site with participation in on-call rotas for emergency interventions.
