We re looking for a seasoned
International Payroll and Tax Manager
to join Procore s Global Payroll Team! In this role, your will lead a team of colleagues in India responsible for processing payroll for Procore colleagues across the globe. You will also support our US payroll by ensuring accurate and compliant taxation through every step of the payroll process. It s an exciting time to do payroll at Procore and this role is critically important to our continued transformation. This is a new role so you have the opportunity to bring your experience and influence to how we move forward.
You will also play a key role in supporting US payroll with responsibility for ensuring proper tax withholding, ensuring tax rates are kept up to date, handling tax adjustments, reporting and W2Cs. You will provide tax research, analysis, reporting, and project coordination to ensure compliance with applicable payroll and tax laws. You will also take a lead role in our year-end process and other tax related project work.
You will not work alone! To be successful in this role you will work with our global payroll vendors, our US payroll vendor (One Source Virtual), our payroll team across the globe, plus our partners in the People organization and Corporate Tax to solve and, more importantly, to prevent payroll problems.
This position reports into our Sr. Director, Global Payroll, and can be based out of any of our India locations or remotely within India. We re looking for someone to join us immediately.
What you ll do:
- Build, lead, develop and mentor the international payroll team
- Provide leadership for all aspects of payroll tax withholding for our US payroll
- Help define and refine new approaches to processing payroll across the globe
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll, including but not limited to base pay, stock compensation, commissions, bonuses, pension, statutory and supplemental benefits
- Assist with driving global payroll strategy, refining current payroll operations to streamline processes to ensure consistency, accuracy, and best-in-class services
- Partner closely with internal partners (People, Finance and Technology Teams) to deliver an outstanding onboarding and pay experience for our employees
- Manage relationships with external service providers, including payroll vendors, in-country partners, local payroll, benefit, and tax providers
- Support internal and external audits
- Lead payroll development and implementation process for new countries or entities, as needed
What we re looking for:
- 5+ years of payroll experience, including leadership of a team, preferably payrolls in multiple countries
- Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, or similar field
- Strong and demonstrable experience leading and supporting all aspects of US payroll taxation
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll, benefits, and employee issues
- Flexible and willing to work across multiple time zones, sometimes outside of the conventional workday
- Experience with Workday, CloudPay or other global payroll solutions
- Public company and SOX compliance experience a plus
