The major skills and competencies required for this role include:

1. A strong understanding of the audiences on YouTube. You relate to the problems of the audience and can define the vision of a channel to systematically address the problems in a differentiated way compared to other YouTube channels.
2. Understanding of content strategy and SEO. You re a strong generalist who can solve problems in all areas with expertise in a few areas.
3. In-depth knowledge of key metrics of YouTube channels and a detailed understanding of the drivers of those key metrics. You re a person who understands key levers to be used for influencing specific metrics.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelors degree in marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred)
2. Experience managing YouTube channels and implementing successful YouTube strategies
3. Strong understanding of YouTubes platform, algorithms, and best practices
4. Advantage of Knowledge of video production, editing, and optimization techniques
5. Knowledge of SEO strategies and keyword research tools
6. Familiarity with video analytics and reporting tools (e.g., YouTube Analytics, Google Analytics)
7. Good written and verbal communication skills
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
9. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
10. Creativity and ability to think outside the box to drive engagement and growth on YouTube.

As a YouTube executive, you will:

1. YouTube Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive YouTube strategy aligned with the companys goals and objectives.
2. Manage the YouTube channel, including metadata optimization, thumbnail ideation and video monetization strategies.
3. SEO and Keyword Research: Conduct keyword research and implement SEO best practices to optimize video titles, descriptions, and tags for improved visibility and organic reach.
4. Analytics and Reporting: Monitor YouTube analytics, track performance metrics, and provide regular reports on key metrics, including views, engagement, and subscriber growth, to inform decision-making and improve content strategy.
5. Stay Updated with YouTube Trends: Stay informed about the latest YouTube trends, algorithm changes, and best practices to ensure the channel remains relevant and competitive.
6. Brand Reputation Management: Monitor and respond to comments, feedback, and inquiries on YouTube to maintain a positive brand image and address customer concerns effectively.
7. Take charge of the culture, and learning and development of all channels to create an atmosphere where each team member is motivated to perform at their A game.
8. Maintain trackers for each activity done on the channel with proper documentation.
9. Maintain compliance with organisational processes and procedures.
