SMART Lab was established in 2013 under the supervision of Prof. Somaditya Sen of the Physics Department at IIT Indore. It is part of the department and specializes in experimental condensed matter physics. focusing on Oxide materials.

Role Description

I am inviting long-term (at least 6 months) interns (graduated with an MSc in Physics or Electronics) to gain experience in various experimental condensed matter physics fields. These interns will be in learning mode as volunteers without expectation of salary.

This is an unpaid, experiential internship in experimental condensed matter physics at the SMART Lab, IIT Indore. The intern will be involved in day-to-day tasks such as assisting with experimental setups, data collection and analysis, literature reviews, and collaborating with researchers. The position is on-site and is located in Indore.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics and a strong foundation in fundamental physics
• Skills in data collection, data analysis, and use of laboratory equipment
• Capacity to conduct literature reviews and report findings
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of researchers
• Enthusiasm for hands-on research and experimental work
• Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate program

The following subjects can be a guideline to find what can be achievable in my laboratory:

1. Sol-gel synthesis and characterization of ferroelectric and multiferroic materials

2. Thin film deposition of simple oxide materials and exploring preliminary devices

3. Dielectric resonator antennas using composites of polymers and ferroelectric materials

4. Green synthesis of simple and doped oxides for antimicrobial, cell culture, and wound-healing properties.

5. Electronic and specialized lab equipment development
