Founded in 2009, Indian Institute of Technology Indore is part of the new cycle of IITs established by the Government of India. The institute offers degrees in engineering branches such as computer science, electrical, and mechanical. Additionally, IIT Indore has Ph.D. programs spanning basic sciences including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as well as humanities disciplines like Psychology, English Literature, and Economics.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a National Postdoctoral Fellow (NPDF) at the Indian Institute of Technology Indore ib radio astrononmy linked to the upcoming Square Kilomtre Array (SKA). The NPDF will be responsible for conducting independent research, collaborating with faculty members, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and contributing to publications in peer-reviewed journals. The role also involves participation in academic events such as seminars, workshops, and conferences. This position is based in Indore.

Qualifications

• Strong research skills in low frequency radio astronomy: simulations, observations or instrumentation.
• Experience in publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to mentor and guide students in their research projects
• Proficiency in utilizing relevant research tools and methodologies
• Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in a related field is mandatory
• Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
• Experience with grant writing and securing research funding is an advantage
