Job Description

What are we solving for

We are solving for households in poverty who are also financially and socially vulnerable through a targeted, multi-faceted, and sequenced model called the graduation approach, which has demonstrated that we can durably pull households out of poverty.

At The/Nudge Institute, we have been piloting this program for the past3 years and are now scaling it across multiple states. Our purpose is to enable the most excluded individuals to become contributing members of the economy. We will

Enable government to adopt by providing research, design, and implementation support
Continue to iterate on the program design to create impact at scale through our own implementations
Support more NGOs in adopting graduation approach by offering technical expertise and capacity building
Build evidence on graduation approach to nudge governments to adopt at-scale
Develop technology solutions that enable NGOs and governments to adopt and implement the program at scale & with quality

Key Responsibilities

Work with raw data (Excel / CSV/ SQL databases) to clean, enrich, and transform into usable datasets.
Build and maintain dashboards and reports (using tools like Power BI, Apache superset) to track program KPIs
Use Excel for data manipulation: pivot tables, formulas, lookups, data cleaning, summarization.
Collaborate with the operations and strategy team to understand the program requirements and translate them into data-driven insights and reports.
Document data processing steps, maintain data integrity and versioning.
Support ad-hoc data requests, exploratory analyses, and contribute to data-driven decision making.

What We Are Looking For

Recent college graduate OR with up to 2 years of experience with a strong academic record.
Basic familiarity with Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data cleaning, functions) and basic Python (ability to write DB transformations)
Exposure to SQL or Python able to write simple SELECT queries, filters, joins, aggregations.
Basic awareness / hands-on with Power BI (or willingness to learn quickly).
Logical/analytical mindset, attention to detail, data-driven thinking.
Eagerness to learn, ability to work in a fast-moving startup environment, good communication and collaboration skills.
Comfortable working with ambiguity, able to translate program requirements questions into data queries/reports.
