Job Description

About the Role As a Junior Interior Designer, you will support the design team in the planning, conceptualization and execution of interior projects (residential, commercial or hospitality as relevant). You’ll work under senior designers and liaise with clients, vendors, and site teams, contributing to design development, drawings, presentations and material selections. Key Responsibilities Assist senior designers in developing interior design concepts that meet client needs and functionality. Prepare space-plans, layouts, furniture plans, elevations and 2D/3D drawings using software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and/or 3ds Max. Develop mood-boards, material & finish palettes, furniture and lighting selections, and present these to senior designers / clients. Attend project coordination meetings with clients, vendors, contractors and consultants; take notes, follow up on deliverables. Support preparation of drawings and documentation for construction/execution, including material specifications, shop drawings and schedules. Stay updated on interior design trends, materials, finishes and technologies; bring innovation to the team. Assist on site visits (if required) for measurement, coordination and ensuring design intent is implemented. Maintain organized files and documentation of design development, client feedback, vendor quotes, samples etc. Contribute to design team brainstorming sessions and help ensure that project deliverables meet quality / timeline requirements. Required Qualifications / Skills Bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design/Architecture or a related field. Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/Illustrator). understanding of design principles, space planning, materiality, furniture and lighting. Strong visualization skills, ability to translate ideas into sketches, models or presentations. Good communication skills – able to coordinate with team members, vendors and clients. Keen attention to detail, organized work habits, ability to multitask and meet deadlines. A creative mindset, with a willingness to learn and adapt. (Preferred) Experience/internship in an interior design studio or relevant field (1−2 yrs) is a plus. Desired Attributes Passion for interior design and awareness of global trends in materials, finishes, lighting, furniture. Team-oriented, yet proactive – able to take tasks independently under supervision. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple projects simultaneously. Willingness to visit sites, meet vendors, and assist with execution when required. Portfolio (even academic) demonstrating design aptitude, sketches, CAD/3D renderings, use of materials. Salary & Benefits(Specify salary range based on experience; e.g., ₹15,000 – ₹30,000/month for 0-2 yrs in major metro). Based on job listings in India this range is common.
