Job Description

We are seeking dynamic, creative, and resourceful candidates for ExxonMobil s Bengaluru, India location to work on challenging quantitative seismic analysis problems in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team of Quantitative Interpretation, Processing and Formation Evaluation global specialists. Candidates will conduct applied project work with seismic data to perform post-imaging seismic data conditioning, seismic inversion, velocity model building and domain conversion using a variety of software for data processing and analysis, as well as log data analysis and rock physics modeling.
 
What you will do
  • In consultation with ExxonMobil s global Geophysical Analysis experts, define project objectives, work scopes and deliverables.
  • Contribute to all stages of seismic data conditioning & inversion project work.
  • Perform well ties and build domain conversion velocity models.
  • Conduct quantitative interpretation through machine learning software.
  • Perform rock property analysis, attribute analysis, and eFWI(elastic full waveform inversion) evaluation
  • Work with computational scientists, engineers, and geoscientists to test, deliver and support various geophysical data analysis tools, models, algorithms and software.
Skills and Qualifications
  • masters or PhD degree from a recognized university in Geophysics, Geoscience, Geology, Engineering or Physics with CGPA 6.5 and above.
  • Demonstrated record of more than 3 years of hands-on industry or research experience in geophysical data analyses, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Proficiency in English, strong interpersonal & communication skills.

Experience with one or more geophysical analysis software suites.

  • For example, Petrel, Rokdoc, Jason, Hampson Russel, DecisionSpace Geoscience, Palaeoscan etc

Strong computational and analytical skills

  • For example, knowledge of seismic inversion, well log analysis, quantitative interpretation, AVO, seismic interpretation, DHI, seismic to well tie, rock physics, domain conversion, velocity model building, statistical methods, machine learning, signal processing, numerical modeling, computer programming and optimization.
Preferred Qualifications / Experience
  • Experience with quantitative seismic interpretation.
  • Experience with various forms of velocity used in subsurface characterization.
  • Experience with DHI analysis.
  • Experience with gravity/magnetic modelling & interpretation.
  • Basic knowledge of FWI/eFWI technology.
